Furniture
Flétta is a multifunctional table that can be easily transformed depending on space and needs. The table can easily be changed from dividing a workbench and a tablenook to a large dining table.

The inspiration for Flétta comes from medieval banquets around the 1500s. At the time, halls were multifunctional and dining tables were raised upon trestles so that they could easily be put away after the feasts and the halls put to other uses. The host of the celebration was seated in the middle of the table, and was therefore its heart, while also dividing the table. With the table Flétta, history and the present are woven together. In the hectic lives we lead today eating together is as valuable a social event as it is a biological one, it is at dinner when family ties are most strengthened.

Nowadays tables are often used for more than just to sit down and eat at. Flétta can be divided in two with its middle, which is made of cork, thus creating a working space on one side and a space for enjoying dinner at the other side without having the day’s work in sight. The table’s middle part can form an elevation, highlighting the value of both the dinner and the moment. If the table’s middle is flattened out, the table is further enlarged so that it can accommodate 10 people for dinner. Even when flattened out the table’s heart is clearly visible, highlighting the value of enjoying a meal with close one’s.

The table is made of maple wood and its middle from cork.
Size: 90x184(240) cm.
