For this project I took inspiration from textures that were in my environment and tried to recreate those textures on the handloom using unconventional materials.
The texture that I took as inspiration for this sample as you can see on the right was a trunk of a tree. I used materials like stones, tiles, pots, textured paper, rotten nails and wire to recreate that inspirational texture.
The inage on the right is a zoomed in version of a bike tyre. This is one of my favourite samples not only because I love hot the sample tured out but also because of all the wacky materials that I got to used to create the sample. I've used things like plastic pipes, marble, granite, stone, metal discs, cardboard, rusted wires, garbage bags,  soda bottle caps, foil to an actual paper cutter. I weaved all this on the loom using a plain weave and surprisigly considering the tiny stones in there this sample is quite sturdy even  off the loom.
All those colors in the fabric swatch on the left remind me of my childhood. So for this sample I have only used one material that is crayons and then tried to simplify the print by creating a stipe check pattern on the loom.
