This student film was created for my second year 3D Animation class at Emily Carr University.  We were required to create a short character animation film of about 30 seconds.  I decided to dedicate more time to it and wound up making it 2 minutes long whilst adding an additional character.

This was a great experience for me as it brought me to a really high level of frustration, spending gruelling hours perfecting even the most minute details.  I just kept working at it, despite all the times that I had to re-do my rig, or re-model the geometry, or simply re-start whatever I was doing from the program crashing many dozens of times.

The purpose of this was to allow students to get a dose of everything in the 3D Animation production process: concept/storyline,
character design
environment design,
modelling,
texturing,
rigging,
animating,
lighting,
camerawork,
and rendering.

Here are my first concept sketches
