Julep: "Beauty Lab" Crowdsourcing Product Development

Objective: Create ongoing email marketing campaign to drive consumer interaction and source information from customers about what they want in specific beauty products. This month's "Beauty Lab" campaign was to get input on new colors for the first crowdsourced beauty product, a matte lip mousse called It's Whipped. The email drove users to an online survey. The campaign took place in Jan/Feb 2016.
 
Approach: I met with the graphic and web designers to walk through the experience we wanted the customer to have, and then worked with the product team to figure out the best way to brand the product and campaign. Since the email was going out around the start of the political primary season, I opted for a lot of fun, timely language. 
 
Result: All teams loved the fun copy, and the marketing team saw an improvement in customer response and survey completion.
