Buying Time

With increasing life expectancies and rapid socio-economic change, the way we die has shifted along with the way we live. Buying Time is a serialised set of newspaper inserts that aims to bring current mortality information to the Australian public by delving into cause-of-death and quality-of-life data on a global and domestic scale. Using the economic and widespread media of newsprint, the broadsheets provide a snapshot of how we perceive and regulate health as well as threats that have increased or subsided in recent decades. The series would hypothetically be released across five weekdays at the beginning of 2016, presenting the information in more digestible portions with a different focus each day to highlight key concerns while subverting incorrect assumptions where applicable.
