"NO PLACE LIKE HOME" is a revisionist horror version of "THE WIZARD OF OZ", published by image comics, written by a very talented writer named Angelo Tirotto and illustrated by Richard Jordan. If you haven't read it yet, do so! It's a fantastic comic.

Anyway, Angelo approached me to create a pin-up for his comic. The brief was to create a cover using any/all of Dee, Lizzie, the flying monkey, or something entirely different that ties in with the book and Oz. It was a very loose brief and gave me a lot of room to work. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and hope to find a similar project in the near future. Artwork for comics is an area I'd love to move in to.

Hope you like it.
I knew from the start I wanted to work with the flying monkey (I do like a good villan) and wanted to find to capture the fear and dread inspired by Angelo's flying monkey. I decided the best way to do this would be to present the monkey and the tornando as, almost, one dangerous, unstoppable, entity.

The artwork work was drawn by hand and then inked with a small brush. After it was scan at a massive resoultion and coloured in photoshop.
