Installing Acoustic Treatment
Simpson ties were secured to the rafters...
...and the backs of the acoustic panels.
1x2s allow the panels to be suspended from the rafters.
(notes to self)
If you need to get a lot of work done, you could perhaps skip the doorknob cutout so you're less tempted to leave.
Synth Repair
The Access Virus B kept cycling through the boot screens indefinitely when powering up.  When it eventually would power on, the audio output often had undesireable high-end noise, even with the master volume low.  Both symptons were possible indications of at least one bad capacitor.
Desoldered the red power leads from the jack to gain access to both sides of the PCB.  All the electolytic caps on the right are about to be replaced.
The bad capacitor left some evidence behind.
New caps.
Speaker Shelves
For proper stereo imaging, I designed the simple stands below to create an ear-level 0.91m/3ft equilateral triangle between the listening/mix position and monitors, while leaving some space underneath for other equipment.
