Tigé RZX wakeboarding boat studio photo shoot

I was pretty pumped to get the call from my good friends at Tigé boats to photograph their all-new Tigé RZX ultra-premium wakeboarding boat. It goes without saying that their amazing boats are my absolute favorite things to shoot.

This year, I brought to the studio the new Canon 5Ds and the new (to me) Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II. Previously I had used the Canon 1Ds Mark III along with the 24-70mm version I. The 5Ds/ version II combo beats the old one hands-down in every single way. The resolution rivals medium format, and the sharpness from the 24-70mm f/2.8L II is sublime. I had more than enough pixels to do exactly what I wanted to do in post.

I raided my equipment closet and brought three Profoto Acute2 1200 generators, six Profoto D4 heads, two Profoto D1 500 Air monolights, and an assortment or Profoto light modifiers including several seven-inch reflectors with grids, softboxes and more. We hung two Matthews 20X20 butterflies above which were used along with the strobes to light the overall boat, and strategically placed additional heads with seven-inch reflectors and various grids for detail lighting.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my work. Appreciations are, well – appreciated.
