Arna Jharna Desert Museum (Jodhpur), curated and maintained by Rupayan Sansthan has a completely different take on museum as well as desert culture. Rather than celebrating royalty and excesses it has preserved the lifestyle of the desert folk in their household objects and surroundings. Besides hundreds of varieties of brooms, ancient rock inscriptions, a haunt for migratory birds and regular musical and cultural workshops; the museum's water conservation techniques and surroundings make it revolutionary.

My Role: While the museum interiors were well curated, an entire sequence of plaques were created to guide the visitor around the museum; highlighting the surroundings in a way that helped them appreciate the exhibits and efforts better.
