Winter 2016 AI Scholarship Competition

Nicole Parry - INTA303 Digital Modeling I - Instructor: Sarah Hatinen - BS in Interior Design

This class was about digital modeling techniques and skills through the design of a boutique the students choose and work on throughout the quarter. Must use SketchUp with the ShaderLight extension and create custom detailings within the design.

Project Concept - Modern Rococo utilizing sculptured architectural features and a neutral matte palette letting the lighting of the space be the highlight for these features. The array of array of flowers provide commonality in the fanciful rococo designs while adding splashes of color and capturing the attention and awe of customers and staff.

Process - Find some inspiration pieces (pictures, artwork, fashion, ect) and develop a concept for the space. Create sketches of the space layout, architectural details, and space planning. Using AutoCAD draw the floor plan and space planning details. Put the floor plan into SketchUp and create a 3D model adding materials and items appropriate for the concept and space. Once complete Shader Light is used to create renderings that show the lighting of the space and finish of the materials, which is then taken into Photoshop where figures are added to activate the now rendered space and bring to life the concept.

Creativity - See design slides and images below.

Presentation - Presenting this project at completion allowed me to revisit this idea in a new light with new found knowledge allowed me to present a professional concise and logical concept executed to completion and as always with style and class
