The Italian Association of the Red Cross, public corporation with non-economic prerogatives of international character, its aim is the health and social care in time of peace or in time of conflict. Institution of high relief, is placed under the patronage of the President of the Republic, subject to State supervision and the supervision of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Economy and Defense as the responsibility, while maintaining a strong volunteer organization of its nature. The C.R.I. is part of the International Red Cross Movement. In its activities at international level is coordinated with the International Committee of the Red Cross, in countries in conflict, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent for the other operations.
