This is a WIP done in a typography workshop that aims at teaching hand lettering and then digitizing to create the basic foundation for type design.

We were given different briefs, and mine was as mentioned below:
Contrast: Visible, oldstyle
Width: Narrow
Weight: Black
Ascenders: Long
Descenders: Long
Stroke endings: Chunky serif

We were supposed to hand-letter the word "adhesion". The first sketches revolved around getting the brief right.

Apart from the serifs, the form of "h" became my reference for the rest of the word.
"a" turned out be a tricky yet fun form, as I could explore a lot while trying to maintain the brief. My main challenge was to keep the letters black, narrow yet with a visibly old style contrast.
This was the first draft of the set of letters. The serifs seemed disbalanced, which in turn messed up the spacing.
The first draft which included all the letters for a wholesome comparison.
The final draft is currently in process.
