Matteo Moella è un regista controverso. Vive e lavora a New York dove è anche in riabilitazione per curare il disturbo borderline di cui soffre da anni.
Durante le prove del suo ultimo lavoro, una telefonata dall'Italia lo avverte della morte di suo padre.
Matteo lascia New York e la sua vita per tornare al paese dove è cresciuto e alla casa al mare che il padre gli ha lasciato.
La spiaggia della sua infanzia diventa il suo rifugio, inaccessibile a tutti tranne che ad Alice, una ragazza giovane e bella, che sembrerebbe aprire una breccia nel muro che Matteo ha eretto tra lui e il resto del mondo.
Ma i suoi fantasmi, sempre presenti, lo trascinano di nuovo in una spirale di ricordi e ossessioni da cui sarà sempre più difficile uscire.

Matteo Moella is a controversial but successful director. He lives and works in New York where he is also in rehab to treat the bordeline disorder, from which he suffers for years.
During the rehearsals of his latest work, a phone call from Italy warning him of the death of his father. 
Matteo leaves New York and his life to return to his hometown and to the beach-house that his father left to him .
The beach the beach of his childhood became his refuge, inaccessible to everyone except Alice, a young and beautiful girl, which would seem to breach the wall that Matteo has erected between him and all the rest.
But his ghosts, always present, drag him again into a spiral of obsessions and memories from which it will be increasingly difficult to get out.
