Most are familiar with The Son of Man, that surrealist painting by French painter René Magritte. Here's my own interpretation in several pictures. It's not exaclty surrealistic; maybe I'll work on a version later.
Believe it or not, this is an accidental picture between takes, but I decided to include it because it speaks to an unseen object of desire that is unreachable (interpretation du jour, mind you). The green apple in all the pictures is a real one, it hasn't been copied and pasted or photoshopped. I just used a very low-tech trick to keep the apple in that floating position.
I initially thought of photographing myself dressed as the “Son of Man” a lá Magritte. However, I created this playful face because a friend goaded me to smile. Bless her heart!
