Initially envisioned as a label to produce video games under, Stygian Blue was the name an associate wished to use for his video game endeavors. At the time I was already assisting him with art so I produced a logo for him. This required a bit of research, as the name was a reference to the term “The Impossible Color”.

 

As a trick of the eyes I decided to make the logo a trick as well in the vein of having the word for a color being a different hue than what it said; with Stygian being a reference to the river Styx I pulled the descender of the Y out having it flow over the bottom words, cutting them like a river. Finally making blue a large heavy font to help balanance the logo horizontally.

 

Currently the endevor has not been fully realised.
