FUV Architectural Theory Magazine

FUV Architectural Theory Magazine
FUV is a theory and photographic-based architectural magazine. The magazine's name is derived from the Latin firmitatis, utilitatis, venustatis -- the base principles of architecture as defined by Roman Architect Vitruvius. Roughly translated, the principles include durability (a structure should stand up robustly and remain in good condition), utility (the structure should be useful and function well for the people using it), and beauty (the structure should delight people and raise their spirits).

It is the application of this base of ideals as seen in modern society from which the magazine takes its point of view in pushing architecture further as an artform.

The magazine can be appreciated at face value as well – even a casual consumer who will only look at the photography will find it aesthetically pleasing. The more serious reader will be compelled by the theory writing.
