SOCIETY IS A SICK GAME
Are we unconsciously powered with industrial superegos ?
This sketch is still in construction.
This drawing describes the impact of the actual holistic* perception of the society on a character.
This sketch represents a stifling soul, struggling for her identity.
Symbolic meanings:
The card game is the society. It's an hybrid game inspired by poker and tarot. The game is provided with unconventional symbols associated to social communities or minorities. Because someone can't be reduced to only one of its characteristics, this wounded soul is suffering from social holism.
The game standing for the society is strangling her.
The dark queen crown she's wearing stands for alienation, like a queen in the shadow of the king.
The grey hair stands for the lack of vitality.
The wind stands for adversity.
The smocky make up & the black tear stands for sadness & misery.
The clenched teeth are giving another dimension to the artwork: struggle & hope.
Coming soon: The rest of the game. A Gareth Pugh inspired outfit.

*Sociologic Holism: This concept has been initially exposed by Émile Durkeim.According to him, individual behaviors are socially determined: society exercise a constraint (coercition power) on individuals who internalize the main rules and respect them. It doesn't necessarely means that individual free will is eliminated but statistically, what an individual choose not to do, someone else will do it, for a similar social result.
