I'm very proud that I made Yallah Underground logo, I still don't believe it until now, it's not just a logo or another job to do.
Yallah underground had a personal impact on me and my thought's.
It all started 6 years ago when I was a student in the university in 2009, I saw a three minutes and twenty three seconds trailer which affected me so much that I said I want to be like them and continue the path they're walking on, I want to continue and contribute with them, what they do in music I want to add on it with my skills as a graphic designer, I wanted to be cell in that body.
Yallah underground is not just another movie, it's an independent culture, an entire independent civilization that is being built under the surface, it's a way of life and a way of thinking that we will only see it results in future.
3.23 sec weren't just a trailer for any other movie, they were yallah underground trailer, they were magical moments filled with shear visual power that could impact the lives of many people.
The day that Farid Eslam sent me a message asking me to make the logo of Yallah underground was a true dream and a historical moment for me that proved to me that I really became a cell in this body, a thing that made me very proud indeed, and all the thanks go to the genius who touched my heart and mind with his art and made me what I am today.Thank you Farid.
Yallah! Underground was filmed during a period of great change within the Arab world. From 2009 till 2013 (before, during and after the Arab Spring) director Farid Eslam and his crew followed some of the most influential and progressive artists in Arab underground culture and documented their work, dreams and fears in an ever-changing environment.
In a region full of tension, young Arab artists in the Middle East have struggled for years to express themselves freely and to promote more liberal attitudes within their societies.
During the Arab Spring, like many others of this new generation, local artists had high hopes for the future and took part in the protests. However, after years of turmoil and instability, young Arabs now have to challenge both old and new problems, being torn between feelings of disillusion and a vague hope for a better future.
Yallah! Underground won the Hessian Film Award for Best Documentary 2015.
The film premiered at the 2015 Visions du Reel Film Festival in Switzerland and has since been screened or will be screened at international film festivals in Munich, Bergen, London, Warsaw, Oaxaca, Copenhagen, Cologne, Montreal, Dharamshala, Kassel, Wiesbaden, Nancy, Dubai, and many more.

LOGO BRIEF
The old logo has become kind of well know when talking about the film.
So the new logo should go into that direction as well.
The problem with the old logo is that:
A - the background calligraphy is taken from the web, it can mean anything and we don't have the rights for it.
B - most of the artists featured on the logo are not in the film anymore.
What we really like is the sort of propaganda stencil style. We're talking about a film about underground culture, so it should evoke that feeling of street art, very rough, very stencil-ish, a bit of revolution feel to it.

- the film title
When creating the logo we have to think about the usage, which mainly will be the film poster.
What I would like to achieve is that the film poster will look a bit like a stencil on a bright whitish wall or on a piece of fabric.
