DESIGN
Most of the time outdoor wireless internet devices have technological appearance without any exclusivity and brand recognition.
Our task as designers was to create unique distinctive look. We concentraited on simple but interesting form which is dinamic smooth and good looking in urban environment.
DEVICE
LigoDLB series devices are used for the outdoor hotspot and other related applications.
After the firmware upgrade DLB devices are converted into access points for outdoor hotspot networks.
DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Brainstorm and primary sketches. Rectangular form with micro-plastic, segmentation or organic rhythm of stylistics.
Smooth shapes and rounded corners. Searching for a different character.
"Think different" forms.
Development of the form and character. Combining softness with edges and strictness.
In search of balance between soft and hard form of the product.
Final sketch detailization. Rythm, style, balance, dimentions, edges, smoothness.
Final look
Dinamic of the form is created by using disappearing lines which start from the top chamfered edge to the bottom roundened surface. From the side view very clear smooth line represents speed and creates an allusion to the company's logo.
