Emma's Trust
Design thinking can have benefits in all sorts of scenarios, not just business.
In this the year of our 20th birthday, we’re taking on 20 projects and tasks of various shapes and sizes. One of them has presented us with an opportunity to make a difference to a brilliant local charity, hopefully raising money and awareness for a very good cause.
A good cause
Emma’s Trust is dedicated to helping young people interested in sport and performing arts. It offers financial support to young people in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire who might be prevented from excelling in sports or performing arts due to financial constraints. The Trust also supports Asthma UK, the charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the 5.2 million people in the UK whose lives are affected by asthma.
A new identity
To make an identity for the festival, we used the existing logo and created a fun summery feel, choosing a bright palette to complement Emma’s Trust original pink. Pennants house the words ‘summer festival’ creating an air of celebration and excitement.
We applied it across promotional emails, letterheads, flyers, posters, press ads and social media profiles.
Summer fun
For the last decade, Emma’s Trust has hosted a summer festival. The idea has always been to raise money to award to young people, provide a platform for local young talent to perform alongside some star guests, and give everyone an opportunity to let their hair down in the summer time. 2015 sees the last festival, as the Trust draws its activities to a close after 10 very successful years.
Effectiveness
The email newsletter we created for Emma’s Trust performed really well. 33% open rate, really good, apparently!
