Costume design for a performance
We needed something simple and practical for the suit, something that could cover the whole body, could easily come off partly or as a whole, which would allow the actor complete freedom of movement. The idea arose from the title of the performance “Project Bacchae”. The suit is an overall. We chose materials which would be durable and comfortable for the needs of the performance and placed symbols related to the play, such as ∞ and ⊗ which is a symbol of the soul, discreetly sewn on the garment. For the appearance of the messenger we used bird feathers.
“Project Bacchae” is a solo performance.
It is conceived, directed and performed by Andreas Konstantinou.
