Time Out New York magazine reached out to me and asked that I design their next cover. This project was particularly interesting since I just moved out of New York City. Feeling a bit homesick, designing for Time Out New York allowed me a chance to still make an impact back home. The phrase couldn't have been more fitting: "Be Here Now."
Round 1 - Sketches
These four digital mockups were the first showback. Each design was rough, and meant to explore a different direction. The sketch used to move forward with was the 4th design.
Round 2 - Revision
Once the direction was chosen, I began the revision and refining process. Some of the major edits were to refine the bottom swash, as well as add weight to the letters.

Below is the final mock up used for print. The black was knocked down to a softer brown to blend in more with the background image. The no fill allows for the image to show through.
