Illustrations
I work on traditional and digital platforms, sometimes combining both. Here are a few samples that demonstrate my range of style.
FLY FISHING. This was done as a personal illustration, maybe one day it'll find it's way into a sportfishing publication.
HIBERNIA: WORKING RESPONSIBLY. The President of Hibernia at the time sent me a thank you letter to say that he felt this illustration conveyed a positive environmental message, which was always a challenge in their industry. It was one of a three part series.
HIBERNIA: BUILDING AN EXCITING FUTURE. Part of a series of posters that were created for Hibernia to portray a bright future in Newfoundland and Labrador's offshore oil industry.
HIBERNIA: TECHNOLOGY AT WORK. The Hibernia oil rig was an enormous design challenge for its engineers. The use of this illustration was a way to show to platform to the public before it was actually built. That being said, I worked from blueprints of the rig to create this illustration.

THE ACT YOU'VE KNOWN FOR ALL THESE YEARS. The Beatles have always been one of my favourite subjects. This piece combines a mix of black and white with colour in select spots. I was also going for a bit of that "Rubber Soul" look, matching their placement and distorted effect from that album cover.
"99". I did this as a gift for a friend's 40th birthday which, coincidentally, was the same month Gretzky retired.
BRINGING THE CUP HOME. To commemorate the celebration of Anaheim Ducks' Joe DiPenta winning the Stanley Cup, I designed this logo that went on t-shirts and various other items given out at the party. Sidney Crosby also brought the trophy here in 2009, but Joe can always say that he was the first native of Cole Harbour to bring the Cup home.
THE LUNG RUN. When the Nova Scotia Lung Association needed an identity for an annual fundraiser, The Lung Run became the name of the event. The 1979 Eagles song was the inspiration for the tagline "You can go the distance".
WOODCUTS. Every now and then I like to mix up my style to get a certain look, depending on the need. This scratchboard effect seems to work best in one colour applications.
PENNECON CONSTRUCTION. Working in the mining, transportation, oil and gas and hydroelectric industries, the company's flagship division has played a major role in building the roadways, bridges, aviation runways and industrial sites of Newfoundland and Labrador for over 30 years.
PENNECON CAR SALES.
PENNECON CONCRETE. The leading producer of ready mix concrete in Newfoundland and Labrador. This was part of a series used to show the diversity of the company. All illustrations were done using pencils to add colour.
PENNECON PAVING.
PENNECON ENERGY.
ZEBRA. This was designed as a wall print that would match the decor of our living room. In 2006 it won an award when I entered it in a design competition at the How Conference in Las Vegas.
