Monica and Friends | Turma da Mônica

EN: Paying tribute to the International Woman Day, MSP (Mauricio de Sousa Productions Ltda.) recreated the poster "We can do it!" by J. Howard Miller, 1943. The original art was used internally in the Westinghouse company to incentivate the female works to work harder during the war-time. That image became an icon of the Women Power and that's what was represented in the redesign by MSP. Monica was the first girl to appear in Mauricio de Sousa's comic books and just a few time she became the main character. In her first apearence she demostrates her strength, a feature the she has physically and mentally.

O poster original foi utilizado internamente nas empresas Westinghouse para incentivar as trabalhadoras a se esforçarem ainda mais durante a segunda guerra mundial. Essa imagem se tornou um ícone do Poder Feminino e por isso foi representada com um redesing da MSP. A Mônica foi a primeira personagem feminina a aparecer em uma tirinha de Mauricio de Sousa e em pouco tempo se tornou a principal personagem. Em sua primeira aparição ela já mostra sua força, uma característica que ela possui fisicamente e mentalmente.
