cat's cradle is an experimental animation created by Raymond Rea and with a composed score by Helena Thompson of Purest Spiritual Pigs.

cat's cradle combines two generations of animation technique. The original xerox frames were photographed on an Oxberry Animation stand, and then re-projected under a light box to create (analog) rotoscope frames as well as a matte and counter-matte. Finally, digital effects were employed. The story? Try. Fail. Try. Fail. Try. Failure becomes beautiful in its own right.
