Every 5 Seconds is a small one-page-scroller webpage exercise that focuses on bringing awareness to one of the oldest problems in the world - hunger.
Using the element of surprise combined with an old campaign to erradicate hunger, Every 5 Seconds tries to pass as a gimmicky website that provides information on what's happening - unsurprisingly - every five seconds. In the end, users are confronted with the contrast between two realities.
Instead of the usual shocking images that willingly tend to make the user feel somewhat uncomfortable, this project seeks awareness-raising through statistics numbers. Every single data gathered is synthetized into blocks of 5 seconds for easier perception and comparison.
In the end, the user is prompted to help in three distinct and convinent ways:
- Donation - Gives the users a list of multiple organizations that accept money donations;
- Food Donation - Opens a Google Maps window outlining all the nearby food-banks;
- Share - The easiest way to spread the word and reach a bigger audience.
