This poster design was made for the Latin American Film Festival in the illustration class at la Cité collégiale.
The goal was to design a poster that would represent the Latin American culture and it's festive side for the film festival. It was important here not use cliches and the film aspect of the poster had to remain subtile.

Represented here is an explosion of color, confetti and film elements. This adds movement and a festive feel to the poster. The paper also adds a real physical approach to the poster.

The technique used here is called Quilling, the art of rolling pieces of paper to make a three dimensional picture. Pieces were cut, rolled and glued together by hand before taking a photograph of the work and then adding the text on the computer.

The poster won second place in the contest.
