Here are two spots created for "Doug's Tree Service". These videos highlight the services and attributes that make Doug the best choice for all of your tree removal needs.
First up, a traditional :30 commercial. This video features Doug and his team working to cut down and remove several trees from a site in Ambler, PA. Fliming was done by Bozeken, LLC. I combined the footage with 3D text and objects.
The 3D chainsaw slice is something I am really proud of. I used Element 3D to bring the chainsaw model into to After Effects and animated its posistion. Then, I added a Shatter effect to the footage to make it 3D. It's a really old and fast technique to give 3D depth with shadows to 2D objects. Anyway next I gave the footage a mask, cutting it in half. Then I duplicated the footage and animated the mask as the chainsaw moved across. Finally for flair, I added a smoke and leaf particle trail made using Particular.
The 3D text was created in Cinema 4D and the background was created in Photoshop.
Next up is an 2D animation spot...
This spot never made it to air, hence the video quality. Nevertheless, this spot was a lot of fun to create. I made around five or six versions of Doug until we arrived on the design in the animation. Doug and all other assets were created in Illustrator.
