LAHTI REGIONAL BUSSES
/ 2014

We won a concept contest for the new visual look of the Lahti Region local busses. After winning the contest, we designed the visual appearance for the Lahti Region local busses.

Our ideas stemmed from the region’s nature, and our concept was named “Three stories of homeland”. All busses were painted with a wavy shape that was inspired by the Päijänne Tavastia (suom. Päijät-Häme) region’s sloping topography and the waves of Lake Päijänne. Due to the inventive base colouring, the theme of the busses is easy to alter with graphics. We designed the graphics with three different themes based on Päijänne Tavastia’s signature species: the White-backed woodpecker of the woodlands, the Cornflower growing on fields, and the Bream swimming in the lakes. The colour scheme is based on Lahti city’s signature colours.

The graphics were tailored for 10 different bus models and 87 busses altogether. The plans were actualised in the summer of 2014, and our busses can be seen in use around the Päijänne Tavastia region.
