Culture and Design: Theory and Criticism as the Synergist for Impactive Practice (2014)

 

Visualizes intersections of existing metaphysical and pedagogical/disciplinary design theories of Terrence Love and Guy Julier as well as elements of critical theory as they apply to design methods and strategic thinking. The response is an act of critical design, employing the language of the transit map in order to help the viewer navigate isolations and confluences of concept and practice. The design is flash-based (limited from full inclusion on behance), which allows the user to isolate regions and lines in order to understand a more complete perspective of the whole. Design choices, including color, typeface, and layout, were made based on existing platforms of user research.
