I managed and lead interaction design and UX/UI design for a number of criticaly acclaimed games and apps which teach Kids aged 6 to 12 subjects like Maths, Geography and English in a fun and engaging way, helping them with understanding basic concepts prepare for class assignments and tests. These games have also been adopted as part of curriculum aiding material by leading schools in USA, they aid teachers and paren with the help of special reports feature, which help set up assignments/tests as well as track students progress through a play session.
User Research & Target Persona Development: Understanding Children-Parents playstyle & behaviour
We understood that designing intutive learning expereinces for kids especialy k-4 to k-9 must factor in parents and adults focussing on co-operative and comptetive nature of real world play sessions, we conducted numerous usability sessions and tests with kids and parent - kids pairs to observe and record the behaviour ,online research on the subject and working with child psycholgist, behavioral traits preferences and demographics for different age grops were determined ranging from toddlers to tweens.
Gathering key insights based on numerous play sessions, persona building and user behaviour
Based on popularity of Fruit Ninja and tap frenzy swiping gesture, Ninja chicken was designed to teach kids remember and learn prime numbers. It also capitalised on childrens behaviour of repeating a action they like repetetively.
A fun & narrative e-book combined with a side scrolling game based on Crocpond's famous character "Rindin the Puffer", that teached kids about moral values and hones their motor skills.
Geography, recognising country shapes and their capitals is a tough nut to crack, Tiny Countries took on that challenge of creating a narrative based immersive gameplay that captivated players while making them learn sub-consiously as they played this game endlessly for hours.
Zombies are a big hit with kids especialy in the US, this cute version provides hours of practise of complex math operations like, Addition, subtraction, Divison & Multiplication, while kids have fun transforming zombies in to humans by solving math problems.
