Batiek with plants
I started this new project as it is a perfect combination of my love for nature and my passion for experimental arts.
The crow on canvas startled the idea. Instead of paint, i could dye the canvas. It is a proces which allows me to be surprised. I am not in control. The final work is a result of my choices but also is suceptible to the influence of heat, chemical reactions, light and wind ( air) . Some of the colors wil fade, others wil change during time.
I like the idea that this way of coloring cloth has been used for centuries and it wil be available for as long as there is life on this planet.
Here's three examples with unicorn. The first is dyed with walnut, the secon with prunus spinoza and the last with onion.
TYou can order these totem batiks ( 25x35 cm) choosing the animal and the color. They are fit to be sewn into a purse, onto clothing, as a wall-decoration, made into a herb-bag ....
