Ambient idea for Alzhiemer's disease awareness

Problem

Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia in which the patient suffers from chronic and frequent memory loss. In India, there is negligible awareness about the disease. According to the latest findings*, 1 in 20 Indians over 60 years of age suffers from Alzheimer's disease.  However, due to lack of lack of facilities to detect and treat the problem, it happens to be one of the most underreported diseases prevalent today; pushing people towards a life of complete alienation and depression.

 Creative Solution

On World Alzheimer’s day i.e. 21st September, we will partner with Alzheimer's & Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI), along with India’s leading bank HDFC to execute the idea. Each time an individual enters his/her atm password, he will receive an engineered message which says ‘Password incorrect’, despite him typing out the correct password. After three times, the password gets accepted. He then receives a message saying, “Annoying isn’t it? Imagine the frustration of an Alzheimer's patient who struggles to remember critical things on daily basis”. Before proceeding to the transaction, the user will be given an option of donating a minimum of Rs.10 to Rs.1000 to ARDSI.
