This was made for a Fanzine project, where I had total freedom in terms of format and technique. The theme had to be about London, so I chose The Highgate Cemetery. What I liked about this location was the amount of interesting textures you find in that place and how I could play with that on paper.
The format of the zine resembles the gate of the cemetery and as you start folding pages it is like you are entering the place and visiting the diferent areas. This was my idea. Then I used charcoal and paper to rubb it against the gravestones to get textures and word detail as you can see in some of the spreads. The main concept is to show the cementery through textures and photos I found in the actual place. There are many layers of reading this zine, specially because of its format. It is like 2 books that have a relationship together and separetly and I have created it that way.
