L'Homme ayant contrarié à force de mesures,
L'oeuvre du grand cadran,
L'art de la nature.
Les horloges ne sont que démesures.
L'architecture est à chronos
Ce que l'homme est au chaos.
Une chose que l'on rase
Ou un être que l'on épaule.
Une miette d'étoile à l'écoute du cosmos
Ou un caillou sourd aux voluptés terrestres.

Or a pebble, deaf to earthly delights.
