Rotating Lion
An Emily Carr Assignment

This is an assignment that really pushed me as an animator, teaching me the hard knocks of classical animation.  Drawing so many frames isn't what was hard... neither was having to draw an object in the exact same perspective with a slight rotation in each frame.  What was hard was correcting the movement of every little detail in the lion from the angle of the back to the shape of the nose.  Every single detail had to be nearly exact to establish this as an immobile object that only spins.  Although, all those hours spent drawing was definitely worth it.

Here is the final result in which I matted a colour layer onto the drawings using Adobe After Effects.
SCREEN CAPTURES
Here is a screen capture of the first four frames that I drew... front, left, back, and right.
Here's the original video of the first line test of my stills.  You can still spot the erratic little details in the paws and the face that I had to go back and fix
Another Assignment

Originally, before having to add colours and matte patterns onto the rotation, my class was given the task of compiling our rotations and morphing each one into the next persons' rotation.  I was given a rotating pencil case to morph into my lion, enjoy:
