The Twitter Times

Twitter Newspaper
A newspaper made up of the public's tweets over a 24 hour period. It is printed and distributed daily and contains the top news headlines on the hour, every hour.

This newspaper is made up of a collection of tweets that were taken from twitter every hour on the hour for 24 hours.

The tweets chosen were the ones at the top of the page (the headline) at the time. None of the tweets were filtered or edited.

It's getting to the point now where twitter is becoming a source of information. What i've done is brought twitter - a self publication platform - into a newspaper format - a heavily edited platform - to show you what the future may hold and to begin to visualise the potential growth of one social media website.

Each page represents an hour of the day however some hours weren't included. This represents the fact that we can't be on top of the news all the time, sometimes we might miss a time or a day. Twitter is forever changing, what was the `headline tweet' a second ago is no longer the `headline tweet' it's instantly out of date. But by recording the chosen news topics over a time period of 24 hours it gives us the chance to see that most news stories at the beginning of the day are still relevant and still talked about the following day, however some are lost, misinterpreted or have become less important.

The different arrangement of layouts represents the wide range of `editors' to the tweets. All twitterers are credited at the end.
