Packaging Design for Bobby Pins

Packaging Design for Bobby Pins
Typeface: Tempo

For this project we were asked to create packaging, from a list of ordinary household objects, that would reflect the Gestalt Principals: similarity, continuation, closure, and proximity. I chose the bobby pin for its unique form. I decided to create a matchbox for my package due to its ability to house small objects without losing them. My design was inspired by the art deco patterns of the1920’s, the decade in history in which bobby pins came to popularity due to the bobbed hairstyle. I chose Tempo as my typeface because of its geometric classifcation and because it works nicely with the geometric pattern that is formed within the negative space of the bobby pin design. This package is foil stamped in gold, bronze, and black to reflect the primary bobby pin colors.
