The 2004 football season was the catalyst behind the front cover art direction on this Blackburn Rovers annual report. The Nike 90 boots were being worn by a large number of players at this time and by replacing the 90 with 04 a moment in time was captured and the year of the report was cleverly illustrated. The inner pages used a stencil of the main entrance windows at Ewood Park as a familiar frame in which to place a number of section relevant photographs, whilst the blue and white block effect was used throughout to represent the famous Lancashire clubs iconic halved playing kit. After discussions with the club about usability, delivery and ethics the report was designed at a bespoke 10% A4 and finished in environmentally friendly inks using recycled stock.
