The Greenpark Medical Office building is located in Houston, Texas and is the site for this healthcare design. The design challenge was to design a new office layout for a potential doctor looking to renovate their office. A large portion of the project focused on space planning. It was important to me to design the office with access immediately off the elevators for easy way finding. Separation of public and private space was also a large factor in the design of the medical office.
The concept for this project was to design a welcoming and inviting office. Doctor’s offices have a tendency to be connected to unpleasant experiences. This design solution aims to create a safe environment for patients to have a positive visit. A cool color palette is used with a lot of textured materials to sooth and please the eye. Elements from nature are used in the form of 3Form panels to add to the calming and inviting atmosphere.
This project showcases Steelcase furniture systems along with custom casework such as the nurse’s station and reception desk.
