YOKAI- comic project

Yokai-project

Yokai- project is a collaboration of japanese and finnish comic artists and illustrators. The aim of the project was to explore finnish and japanese characters in traditional folklore.
The group published two comic books both in finnish and japanese in 2015, called: Yokai, mythical characters from two countries. A comic group called Sanmagumo was the driving force of the whole project bringing all the artists together.

Japanese artists were to draw finnish characters, and the finnish artists drew japanese creatures. The result was a delicious new intake of old stories and myths.
I am proud to be a part of this inspiring journey into old stories. Here are some of my illustrations for the book.
