You are what you eat, so recycle dammit!
This project was for a sculpture class, and the instructor asked for a miniature of no less than 1/3 proportion and told us that we could use whatever material we wished so long as it represented the human form. Now I don't really care to work with plaster, can't stand touching the stuff unless absolutely necessary, and for a project this size I was going to be fighting the other students over our dwindling supply in class. So I went for something a little different, but in a way, I also did it to make a statement about being Americans. I used plastic pill bottles to represent the "You are what you eat" cliche and to recycle because frankly until we start demanding our pharmaceutical companies to put our pills in No.1 and No.2 Recyclables, these No.5 bottles will just keep going to landfills since most facilities don't deal with anything other than No.1 and No.2.
