MAD Resilience Films poster design

THE BRIEF
MAD Resilience Films are a small, independent film production company from Toronto. In 2013, they were looking to commission a designer to create a simple but striking poster for their short film Elixir. Having won my first gig with them serendipitously on a cinematography message board, we have been collaborating closely ever since.

THE SOLUTION
My ongoing collaboration with independent Canadian film production company MAD Resilience Films has allowed me to produce a varied array of film posters ranging from the illustrative to the photographic. I have created work for Basted, Elixir, White Lock, Pardonnez-Moi Mon Père and Mismatch And Lighter — five short films which have toured the film festival circuit in such locations as Cannes, Toronto Short Film Festival, Gwinnett Centre Film Fest and Columbia Gorge Film Festival.

The treatment of each poster matches the tone of the film, and the process has always been a delight, allowing me to experiment and employ my various skills into my medium of choice: posters!

Pardonnez-moi Mon Père (Forgive Me Father) tackles the subject of ex-lovers that are forced to reunite at a family breakfast where a war of words and revelations threaten an otherwise peaceful household.
White Lock follows members of a community tormented by personal tragedy and the irrational decisions that bind them to their fate.
Elixir is a dark comedy about two childhood friends about to drink an immortality elixir.
Basted is a short film that details a tense relationship between two roommates.
