Housing association Stadgenoot wondered how inhabitants felt about their (socially weak) neighborhood Nieuwendam-Noord. "Don't do surveys", we said. "Instead, create an inspiring temporary living room-style bar in a vacant building and invite them for a cup of coffee." This is the result. It became a success, and formed the basis for an integral strategic plan to create living rooms in more neighborhoods in Amsterdam.
