São Paulo Subway Signage System
In depth analysis of São Paulo Subway signage system applied on subway platforms
Main signage system was created by the Brazilian designers João Carlos Cauduro and Ludovico Martino in 1970. It was never used completely and was later edited by Bob Noorda at Unimark International - Netherlands in 1973.
Nowadays system is a mix of different eras of signage sets coexisting. It breaks the whole concept of "unity design" and its understanding by passengers of the subway system, making the wayfinding process more complex. The study is avaliable through an academic article (pdf available at the end of this project).
