These posters are designs for an art exhibit displaying the work of Alexey Brodovitch. This poster is a collage of some of his most famous pieces. The diagonal lines, as well as the film strip, the negative space, and font are a nod to his style.
This poster uses photography to advertise Brodovitch. It was inspired by how notorious he was for being a tough critic, as though he had just crumpled up a design from one of his students and said his famous words: "Astonish me." Lots of negative space used and the red caption is meant both for emphasis and to tie all three posters together.
This poster uses typography only to advertise the exhibit. Again, I used a lot of negative space to emphasize Brodovitch's style as well as using the letters to create noise and movement the way he would have. Red is also used, again to give the three posters some unity.
