The Deutsche Telekom requested a clear sign that was visible from a great distance for the Cologne/Bonn Airport. The airport in the vicinity of the company headquarters served as both the location and source of inspiration. The permanent lighting installation “Take-off.” was inspired by the runway lights on the tarmac. Whenever a vehicle passes by the installation, a light impulse is triggered which translates the movement of the vehicle into a dynamic take-off sequence. Thus, the feeling of anticipation and excitement that permeates the terminal before take-off becomes palpable even before arriving at the airport.
