Aggranan is a mixed media piece created for Advanced Studio I to place in my Senior Capstone Show. It is a replica of a game played at my grandparents house with my family as a child. Each color has one piece with an image of a hummingbird, which is used to symbolize my grandmother whom I call "Nanny". Hummingbirds are her favorite bird, and the symbollism of a hummingbird reflects her beliefs and personality. The game is played like the original, except when the player is left to their hummingbird piece which is played last, they must embrace the symbolism of a hummingbird. This will allow the players to understand who my grandmother is, and why she is important in my life.
