I was tasked to create an editorial at school. While brain storming what theme I should do, I thought about the rising cafe culture in Singapore. Many people talk about cafes but not many people know who are the ones behind the scenes. The sole purpose of this magazine is for people to appreciate the ones working hard behind the scenes. Hence, in this first issue, I’d like to highlight baristas from different cafes in Singapore. Each article dedicated to a barista and the cafe he is working at.

 

Just like the 12 disciples from the Bible who were divided to spread the Word, the symbolic number 12 represents different individuals with a common passion and goal in what they do.

 

By keeping the cover plain white, it shifts the attention of the readers to the contents in it rather than the looks of the cover. The logo is tilted vertically on purpose to look like 00:00 hours. This arrangement is done so to represent the start of something new.
