Tarini Ahuja
Allmy paintings are very inspired by nature and colour. Colour is a recurringtheme in all of my work, I feel colours greatly influence the mood and feel ofa piece of art. I always want the people viewing my work to get a sense of what Iwas feeling when I created the painting. My style of painting is very impulsiveand spontaneous.

In the beginning I experimented a lotwith mediums and tried oil paints, enamel, acrylic paints, watercolour paints, etc. However I have found that acrylic paints work best for me and that is themedium that I have chosen for my current project.

I started of with a very traditionalclosed view of art, painting only things I saw like landscapes, flowers, thehuman body, etc. However now I have moved on to creating completely non-representationalabstract paintings. As much as I enjoyed painting the traditional themes likeflowers, landscapes, etc. I felt unsatisfied. As if I was merely recreatingsomeone else’s art.

Non-representational art interests andintrigues me as it’s all about the feeling, impulse, spontaneity and most ofall control. No matter how hard I try to plan ahead I always have an unexpectedend result to each painting. Doing completely non-representational paintingsallows me to experiment with different techniques, textures and methods of painting. To sum up exactly what I feel about abstract painting-

Of all the arts, abstract painting is the mostdifficult. It demands that you know how to draw well, that you have aheightened sensitivity for composition and for color, and that you be a truepoet. This last is essential.
